PhD Lea
Lea Royon PhD
Lea first joined us for her M1 studies in 2020, right when COVID stroke. Though her experiments were interrupted she wrote an extensive report on salience detection in the laterodorsal tegmental nucleus. For her M2, she joined the lab of Manuel Mameli in Lausanne, working with Salvatore Lecca, where she was trained in electrophysiology in brain slices and fiber photometry.
In 2021 she obtained a FRM grant to conduct her PhD studies in our lab. She's interested in understanding how different cell-types in the laterodorsal tegmental nucleus encode positive and negative salient events. For that purpose she set up the use of fiber photometry in our lab.
